This individual will play a key role in understanding how a variety of content, platforms and engagement strategies can impact positive change and advance foundation objectives.<br/><br/>The Senior Communications Officer (SCO) will join the Strategic Partnerships team, which manages media and information grants (e.g., NPR, the Guardian, Univision, Participant Media, etc.). The SCO will oversee the measurement and evaluation of media and information grants, help grantees establish systems to better gather and analyze audience and engagement metrics, and facilitate the team's ability to identify and apply insights from metrics as well as audience and media-usage data.<br/><br/>The position will enable the media grants team to achieve key objectives by: tracking and reporting on progress against our strategic goals; using data and metrics to improve the impact of our existing grants and help to identify new partnership opportunities; and informing the field with the latest techniques, credible evidence and analysis.<br/><br/>The SCO will design, implement and manage MLE across the grant-making portfolio and its diverse set of media and information grants. This position will support MLE efforts across communications and collaborate with key MLE partners across the program and advocacy teams. Responsibilities include:<br/>- Design and implement a MLE framework to be used across the media and information grantmaking portfolio<br/>- Use MLE results and analytics to improve strategy implementation, maximize impact and suggest course-corrections; support annual strategy reviews and periodic strategy refreshes; and develop strong independent evaluation as needed.<br/>- Manage key MLE contracts, grants and partnerships, including relationships with other media funders, universities, private measurement firms<br/>- Provide support and MLE plan for new grants developed by other team members.
