GDP also has Special Initiatives that focus Urban Poverty, Emergency Relief, and Value for the Money.<br/><br/></td></tr><tr height=25><td valign=top><b>Responsibilities</b></td><td>The Senior Program Assistant (SPA) is a key member, acting in the lead administrative role for the team. The SPA provides executive level support to the Director, assists in managing operational issues for the team and acts as a lead to the Program Assistants. Primary responsibilities are listed below.<br/><br/>1. Optimize the use of the Director's time so as to maximize the efficiency of the team's operations. This requires providing support to ensure that their time is preferentially dedicated to the highest priority activities, that tasks and correspondence are rapidly delegated as appropriate, and that follow-up by the Director's office is ensured. To this end, we are seeking a total of four Bduget Analysts to work with the following Global Health (GH) teams: <br/> - GH Functional Teams to include Discovery & Translational Science, Integrated Development, Vaccine Development, Life Science Partnerships, Strategy Planning & Management, and the Office of the President (x2)<br/>- Enteric & Diarrheal Diseases, Pneumonia, Malaria and Neglected Infectious Diseases teams<br/>- HIV/AIDs and Tuberculosis teams.<br/> In all of these areas, the BA will provide financial analytical support in addition to coordinating and managing a range of financially-oriented projects in support of grants, contracts and portfolio management. Work efforts to include supporting the preparation and analysis of business plans, financial statements, models, and tools to support team goals while advising staff on a wide range of financial and operational issues.<br/> The BA will also be expected to collaborate with Program Officers, Coordinators, and GH Stakeholders to provide financial analytical support to execute and manage investments.<br/> Work efforts to include:<br/>- Assisting in the development of budgets and financial plans including the tracking of variances<br/>- Analyzing proposals and budgets of new and existing investments, including spending patterns<br/>- Recommending payment and reporting schedules based on the analysis in collaboration with Program Officers<br/>- Preparing financial reviews to summarize analysis<br/>- Developing benchmarks and tools for analyzing and monitoring grantee budgets and financial reports.<br/>- Organize and articulate financial data in a clear and intuitive manner; especially the articulation of complex financial concepts in non-financial terms.<br/>- Provide clear and consistent communications while engaging in high quality interactions with our grantees and partners in the field.<br/>- Assist GH FP&A on special projects.<br/><br/></td></tr><tr height=25><td valign=top><b>Qualifications</b></td><td>A minimum of three years' work experience in financial and strategic planning functions providing support to multiple team members within a complex and fast-paced organization.<br/>- A degree in Finance, Business or a related field is required. MBA is preferred.<br/>- Experience working in a consultative role with both public and private sector organizations is ideal. Health sector and global heath experience helpful.<br/>- Prior experience in finance or grants management within a non-profit ideal but not required.<br/>- Strong working knowledge of financial analysis (budgeting, costing, reporting).<br/>- Strong technical and financial knowledge, including experience creating complex financial models and efficiently communicating data and results to inform sound strategic and tactical decisions.<br/>- Experience developing, evaluating, managing, and monitoring business plans, budgets and financial reports.<br/>- Excellent organizational skills and the ability to prioritize, plan, manage, and complete multiple projects simultaneously while balancing the needs of multiple individuals/teams.<br/>- Excellent oral and written communication skills, including the ability to extract and analyze appropriate data to convey financial results through the use of supporting tables, graphs, and other visual representations.<br/>- Ability to work both collaboratively and independently in an environment requiring diplomacy and good judgment in managing interactions with individuals at all levels both inside and outside an organization<br/>- Ability to successfully work in cross-function teams in a dynamic organization requiring flexibility, patience, creativity and the ability to adjust work style to match audience for unique business solutions and/or changing or conflicting priorities.<br/>- Strong attention to details and accuracy.<br/>- Excellent software skills with Microsoft Office applications, including Excel and Access.
